Position Description: Awen is searching for a Project Manager to join our interdisciplinary Team. As our next Project Manager, come do great things with our experts as you will enjoy the projects, the clients, and our collaborative atmosphere. The Project Manager will help oversee and perform day-to-day project management and space management-related tasks in support of our client –VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (GLAHS). Our next Project Manager will work alongside other Program/Project Managers, Healthcare Planners, Clinicians, and other Healthcare Professionals, to support a portfolio of healthcare projects and space management initiatives designed to ensure the delivery of quality care & access to healthcare for Veterans and their families visiting the VA’s West Los Angeles (WLA) Campus in Los Angeles, California, as well as other locations within VAGLAHS.
The Project Manager’s primary responsibilities are outlined below:
- Provide project delivery and subject matter expertise to VAGLAHS staff and other Awen teammates on project management matters, space planning activities, move management coordination, including responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality across full portfolio.
- In support of the Federal Government, help to lead discussions, coordination, and process management of Strategic Facilities and Master Planning initiatives.
- Lead communications to internal and external stakeholders, on an ongoing, predictable, and timely basis, ensuring that all project stakeholders are informed of project status, issues, and required actions.
- Identify and address client needs specific to federal program and project management, and federal consulting or federal project management.
- Facilitate and actively participate in recurring meetings, including Space Committee, Move Committee, and Project Team Meetings, to align relocations across departments, priorities, and timelines.
- Conduct space research and site walks, as well as host department-specific discussions, to determine both existing and future space needs, available capacity, and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Interfaces with customer and contract personnel to develop and track project plans and deliverables.
- Guides, plans, and oversees the development, maintenance, and operational access to comprehensive scheduling documents used by all levels of management.
Required Skills & Experiences:
- Commitment to strong core values to include trust, respect, professionalism, and client service.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and 5+ years’ experience performing increasingly complex healthcare or space planning projects; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, relevant advanced education or credentialing (e.g., MS degree, PMP, FAC-PPM, PgMP, CAPM, etc.) and 3+ years’ experience performing increasingly complex healthcare or space planning projects.
- In-depth knowledge of program/project management principles, concepts, and techniques; product standards, industry practices, regulations, and policies; and the ability to apply broad knowledge of other related program/project management fields to area of expertise.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, and safe work practices; and ability to read, understand and interpret architectural, engineering, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret project management documents such as Communications Plan, Project Charter, Risk Register, Requirements Matrix, Integrated Master Schedule, etc.
- Ability to facilitate project team interactions and develop project team member capabilities.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and information across multiple file types and develop presentations, briefings, decision memos, and/or white papers for varying audiences types, both internal and external.
- Ability to oversee, schedule, coordinate, and direct project activities, assign work, monitor work, and evaluate performance.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision to various stakeholder groups.
- Must possess good listening, negotiation, communication, writing and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent observation and organization skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to operate and use a personal computer to enhance daily job requirements, and proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
- Expertise in client management and strong knowledge of healthcare facilities is a plus.
- Federal government consulting, and experience with Veterans Affairs and the Military is a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
