Summary/Objective
The VP, NEPW Converting will manage and oversee the daily operations of the Scarborough facility and will collaborate to guide paper converting processes and systems at the Devens, MA facility. The goal of this individual is to continue to strengthen the company’s operations, deepen the employee focused culture, and accelerate customer development for long-term success. The ideal candidate must be competent in and able to plan a variety of operational, business development and financial planning activities. This individual will ensure that our organization is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. In addition, the VP must be an excellent leader who can bring a management approach that empowers the people to continually improve the overall business capabilities.
Essential Functions
Plan, coordinate, and manage the Scarborough plant and its staff in such a manner as to ensure that Safety, Quality, Operations and Financial company objectives are attained.
Ensure collaboration between Devens, MA facility converting lines.
Manage the facility such that there is a culture in which employees are engaged in their jobs, motivated to work as a team, recognized for the meaningful efforts they provide, and proud to be a part of the company.
Identify and develop new business growth opportunities for converting, related services, and NEPW overall. Determine fit for services NEPW can provide and appropriate price points to continually develop client base.
Provide guidance for lean manufacturing principles and be able to successfully implement necessary changes.
Manage the financial aspects of the P&L, budgeting process, and operations levers to achieve targeted growth.
Develop collaborative relationships with our key customers, working jointly with sales and business development functions to grow the business.
Maintain high standards for quality achievement, through an understanding of paper processing, equipment controls, and personnel training and guidance.
Ensure an effective machine and facility maintenance program is in place and closely adhered to.
Collect and document KPI data for mitigating risk, driving improvements and achieving/exceeding target goals.
Identify key capital investment projects that will enhance and grow the business and then manage these projects through to completion.
Collaborate with the Safety Manager and lead the site emphasis on safety to achieve the goal of ensuring employees go home as healthy as when they arrived at work.
Ensure that staff strictly adheres to all safety rules, company guidelines and procedures.
Position reports to CEO.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business or relevant field
5-7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in paper or manufacturing environment
Proven experience in executive management or equivalent position
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Outstanding communication and people skills
Working knowledge of lean principles, data analysis and performance/operation metrics
