ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in New York State, comprised of an experienced group of physicians specializing in Cardiology, Vascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Obesity, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of a high volume practice and lab.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
- Room patients; assist MDs in patient assessments and exams.
- Measure vitals, verify medical history and purpose of visit.
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients, verify records and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Computer savvy with EPIC/EMR experience.
- Must be flexible, motivated and ability to work both independently with minimal supervision or in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail and communicate effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and safety, securing patient information and confidentiality.
- Travel to other ColumbiaDoctors practice locations as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved 2-year Certified Medical Assisting program or 2 years of experience performing clinical and/or phlebotomy duties in hospital or outpatient medical setting.
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) Certification from a Nationally Accredited Association (NHA), preferred.
- BLS Certification required.
- Strong phlebotomy skills required.
- Previous experience with Medical Insurances (Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial).
- EPIC experience a plus.
