SUMMARY: The AV Director holds the responsibility of supervising the sound board operations and ensuring a consistently high standard of sound and video production quality during worship services, events, and various church programs. This role is crucial in establishing an engaging and purposeful atmosphere, both in-person and online, where individuals can experience the presence of God.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee the AV experience for GMCHC, including live in-person and online services, video recordings, and studio recordings.
2. Oversee the sound board and maintains backups of sound board settings.
3. Recruit, train and schedule AV volunteers.
4. Prepare stage with AV equipment.
5. Provide sound check of all lines/videos prior to each service.
6. Set up and tear down audio systems for worship services, rehearsals, events, and special programs.
7. Operate and maintain AV equipment.
8. Maintain and inventory all equipment. Track equipment usage and formalize tracking system for any department using AV equipment.
9. Mix for online services and post mix for video shoots/recordings.
10. Oversees installation and operation of needed AV equipment.
11. Interfaces with outside professionals as needed to make adjustments, install equipment, etc .
12. Regularly evaluate systems and initiate improvements and best practices when appropriate.
13. Available for sound board operation during music rehearsals.
14. Set direction for AV systems maintenance and repairs.
15. Collaborate with musicians, singers, and speakers to achieve optimal sound quality during services.
16. Troubleshoot technical issues related to audio/video equipment, cables, and connections.
17. Pitch and develop video content for storytelling, Calvary News, promotions, etc.
18. Experienced in creating and editing high-quality reels for Facebook and Instagram
19. Stay up to date on the latest church AV trends and techniques.
20. Work with the Digital Ministry Director to create an engaging online experience.
21. Produce and edit videos/reels, record b-roll, and create still and motion graphics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree or equivalent in the field of (one or more) electronics, communications, audio/video production, media, or music.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in live audio, video production, livestream platforms, and the integration of all three.
At least three (3) years of significant experience with digital sound board operation.
Possess sound beliefs and doctrine, moral character beyond reproach, and godliness in conduct.
Able to work varying work schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Familiarity with using a mixing board/console to perform Audio mixing.
Proficiency in Planning Center, ProPresenter, ProTools mixing, video editing, and music editing.
Possessing a musical background is helpful.
Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness and remain calm and respectful in stressful situations.
Ability to create, coordinate, and lead a worship experience with a team from an audio and video perspective.
Prior experience working in a church environment is helpful.
Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns/plans.
Ability to implement data-informed pivots in both strategy and execution.
Aware of trends from other leading churches and non-religious organizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media management tools like Hootsuite, Sprout Social
Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Strong communications and project management skills
