Job Duties: The CSS Parent Locator Coordinator assists in administering and directing Central Parent Locate in the review of Child Support records for the purpose of establishing a verified address and/or financial data for the purpose of establishing or enforcing Child Support obligations. Supervises parent locate personnel in the management of their caseloads. Ensure that Federal and Local time frames are met in case processing.Assists in ongoing training and refinement of the Child Support Automated System.Manages caseload effectively, ensuring that the appropriate action is taken on all cases and that it is done in adherence with the federally established time frames. Responds by mail or telephone to inquires by custodial parents, non-custodial parents, employers and other agencies.Extracts, compare and evaluate data from various information systems and determine validity and usefulness of the data from various inter-and-intra-agency computer systems and private computer links. Must have extensive knowledge of their limitation and utility as well as State and Federal statutes pertaining to confidentiality of the data.Ensures that correct closure criteria are followed, including use of the most appropriate closure reason and the allowance of the correct length of time when sending either or both of the (60) day closure notices.Accurately record all data gathered on the Non-custodial (NCP), providing whenever possible a home address, current employer, SSN, date of birth, earnings and dates of employment.Contact appropriate staff of the county DSS of Family Independence on those cases in need of additional documentation, corrected referrals, or in which the locator suspects fraud or non-cooperation.Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/service as directed.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Agency Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree and experience in Social Services programs may be substituted for all or part of requirements (a degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Service may be substituted for one year experience).A Master's Degree and one (1) year of professional experience in Human Services of Social Services programs.
