CoWorx Staffing Services has an exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor in Elk Grove Village IL. This is a direct hire, full time role. Hours are 7PM - 7AM (overtime as required) 3day/4 day. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
Job Description:
Supervises and directs the activities of employees in the fulfillment and maintenance department to ensure accurate and seamless operations within the organization and across shifts, departments, and vendors. Uses sound management principles and techniques to manage and develop talent, skills, and processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervises employees in the production fulfillment and pick-pack departments.
- Supervises maintenance staff, oversees total maintenance of production equipment
- Create TPM and various scheduled maintenance programs that are aligned with production
- Works with various vendors to assure facility and production equipment is maintained
- Directs the activities of employees to ensure accurate communications and seamless operations within the company across shifts and departments and with vendors.
- Achieves a high level of employee efficiency and morale through leadership and the use of sound management and human relations principles.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes, ISO and SOPs, continuous improvement, equipment, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
- Works closely with customer service, scheduling, manufacturing departments, and other locations and vendors to ensure timely production and delivery of customer products.
- Effectively plans and schedules workflow through the department and modifies schedules as needed in accordance with business needs.
- Organizes work for efficient operations. Ensures that departmental goals, including safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPIs are established and met.
- Administers policies and procedures and recommends changes as necessary. Follows positive employee relations practices. Selects and recommends candidates for hire, promotion, recognition, disciplinary action, and/or termination keeping appropriate documentation.
- Tracks and controls department expenditures and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets. Provides reporting and analysis to management.
- Troubleshoots processes when necessary. Works with team members to resolve, and request other resources as necessary.
- Promotes a positive work environment, sound training programs, and adherence to ISO work instructions and procedures.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of work performed and the timely shipment of products to customers.
- Approving employee hours, creating employee schedules based on work demand
- Counsels and issues disciplinary action based on company policy
- Provides training and development to employees which includes temporary staff
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill maintaining high speed production equipment within a commercial print/manufacturing/production field
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage people and direct work activities.
- Strong knowledge of various pneumatic & hydraulic systems, robotic, retro fitting, welding CNC, electrical, forklift repair
- Strong knowledge of 5S and Lean concepts (preferred)
- Knowledge of Windows applications; Microsoft Office products; UKG or timekeeping applications and eLearning database systems.
- Demonstrated comfort and ability to learn and leverage new systems.
- Process focus and the demonstrated ability to drive process improvement.
- Must have demonstrated flexibility to multi-task and shift focus and re-prioritize as the situation dictates.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing or related field preferred OR equivalent work experience in a similar position is acceptable in lieu of degree
- Certification (Proof of Completion) from a Technical Training School
- 4 or more years’ experience in comprehensive multi-shift department management in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience training and developing employees
- Previous experience directing and/or providing guidance to a group
