Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and maintenance of approximately 50-100 laptops and other IT assets. Ensure proper inventory, tracking, and maintenance of IT assets throughout the asset lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning/disposal.
- Implement and manage policies for software updates, patches, hardware, and platform maintenance in close coordination with a Managed Services Provider (MSP).
- Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Develop governance and oversight procedures to manage IT sprawl, reduce shadow IT, efficiently manage hardware/software procurement, and develop/report metrics describing the overall IT and security posture of the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the MSP to ensure all IT needs are met. Coordinate with the MSP to resolve technical issues and manage IT support requests.
- Monitor the performance and service levels of the MSP to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure the company’s IT infrastructure and practices comply with ISO 27001 and CMMC requirements. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to support compliance and security, and work with internal staff to develop materials documenting policies for communication with staff.
- Conduct regular IT risk assessments and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement. Develop and deliver IT training programs to enhance user proficiency and security awareness.
- Provide oversight of technical support provided to end users, addressing systemic/recurring issues related to Microsoft 365 and other IT systems by leveraging the MSP support team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the IT function to improve overall company security posture. Research, document, propose, and implement new technologies and solutions to support business growth and enhance operational capabilities.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends and best practices in IT administration and cybersecurity.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT administration, preferably within a mid-sized business environment.
- Proven experience managing IT assets and infrastructure lifecycles, particularly with Windows assets and Microsoft 365. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite, including administration, troubleshooting, user/group management, best practices, monitoring, etc.
- Experience working with Managed Services Providers (MSP) to implement IT strategy, and meet and forecast organizational IT needs.
- Working understanding of IT compliance frameworks, particularly ISO 27001 and CMMC.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPN, firewalls, and network security best practices.
- Familiarity with IT asset management tools and best practices.
- Experience with cybersecurity principles and practices to protect the company's digital assets.
