Job Description:
The Quality & Food Safety Manager will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate the company’s Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation and Regulatory programs to ensure the organizations production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership to the Quality department, including strategic planning, project management, issue resolution, and day to day operations.
- Lead and drive the development and implementation of food safety & quality policies and procedures necessary to assure product safety, quality and regulatory standards are met.
- Assist with development and implementation of programs to assure needed step change in behavior and create true food safety culture.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for food safety and quality to ensure the highest quality and safest food reaches our consumers and customers.
- Develop and foster interactions with New Product Development, Maintenance, Transportation & Warehousing and Production partners to provide guidance on food safety and quality programs to assure appropriately designed processes, product, and equipment.
- Conduct audits of food processing and storage facilities to assess compliance to company and regulatory standards.
- Deliver clearly written audit reports that establish action plans and verify follow up.
- Coach and develop FSQ Operations Team members.
- Provide leadership and guidance for CQV (commissioning / qualification / verification) process for new production lines, new products, new processes.
- Designated SQF Practitioner, PCQI and HACCP Coordinator.
- Primary Contact for GFCO, Kosher, SQF, FSMA, GFFP etc
- Designated to oversee and maintain gluten free program
- Contribute to corporate strategy and act as a catalyst for change in an evolving organization.
- Lead the development, communication, implementation, and monitoring of all GMP’s, Quality Assurance, Sanitation and Customer service programs and policies.
- Manage and maintain the Company’s quality program for all products, to include incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, finished good and distribution of products.
- Implement ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams.
- Ensure effective communication between customer and Company relating to customer complaints, ensure all complaints are tracked and corrective action steps are implemented as needed.
- Communicate daily with all Department Managers to discuss any issue that arises.
- Oversee and ensure all third-party requirements and regulations are maintained and implemented.
- Oversees the SQF Certification process and any other food safety audits for the Company.
- Develops, maintains, validates, and revises annually the SQF Program
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates activities related to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program.
- Manages the SQF program on an ongoing basis; Ensures that SQF programs are being respected rigorously by staff.
- Ensures a good follow-up of non-conformities of the SQF Program by developing and putting in place realistic action plans.
- Manages the HACCP system; Analyzes production steps to determine efficient control points based on the SQF system and revises them when changes are made.
- Participates in and takes the lead in food safety audits
- Trains and supervises management employees that have a role in the SQF Program to ensure their good understanding of the rules and development as a team of the best control measures possible
- Supports Production and QA technicians in the application and/or monitoring of the SQF rules and controls.
- Informs the immediate supervisor of all non-conformities to the SQF rules for which the consequence to the company could be major
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining FSMA, KOSHER, ORGANIC, GFCO, GFFP and other regulatory compliance programs.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the environmental monitoring program.
- Responsible for conducting a variety of lab testing to include, Listeria, Salmonella, Air Quality checks on compressed air, microbial testing on compressed air and more.
Job responsibilities include those listed above as well as additional tasks as assigned.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
