SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)
Oversees the software systems utilized by the CH Medical Group (CHMG) for Key Performance Indicator measurement and reporting. Acts as the day-to-day liaison between Capital Health software vendors. Participates in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous process improvement of practice management Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Billing systems. Introduces clinical system users to information technology, ensuring information systems are user-friendly and supports clinical, quality, safety, communication and decision making. Provides timely reporting to regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Healthcare-related field (clinical or administrative) preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience in an EHR coordination/implementation role. Experience with financial or accounting systems beneficial.
Other Credentials:
Knowledge and Skills: Strong, demonstrable experience providing customer service and training to clinical system users. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates knowledge in healthcare/practice business processes and associated clinical application software. Must be detail-oriented and have strong time management and critical thinking skills. Able to multi-task and effectively plan and execute projects and tasks for timely completion.
Special Training: Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience with Athenahealth, Premier InflowHealth Medical Practice Manager, and Lawson preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Exhibits technical knowledge and experience in directly supporting and maintaining department systems for multi-hospital healthcare organization.

Provides statistical analyses of large and complex datasets to measure productivity and identify improvement opportunities to streamline processes. Designs, develops, and validates data and reports findings for completeness and accuracy of data specifications. Establishes schedules to collect, analyze, interpret, and report provider data and manages priorities for designated data program deliverables.

Seeks and adopts best practices in data reporting and makes recommendations. Discovers discrepancies and patterns and works to correct data. Provides ad-hoc data extracts/reports across primary and secondary data sources as required by department and practice management. Develops data queries from provider billing system and databases and creates usable reports.

Provides technical leadership of application database configuration. Uses advanced spreadsheet skills and provided recommendations to assists in the development of data-driven financial and operational metrics. Utilizes programming knowledge in technical issue analyses and problem diagnosis to resolve problems resulting from interfacing with systems and databases. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all appropriate decision support systems. Demonstrates the ability to utilize all systems fully and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Serves as an administrator of data support systems and understands various components and modules for decision support services. Recognizes, researches, isolates, and resolves information system problems in response to inquiries received from internal users and provides appropriate notification.

Assists with all aspects in the implementation of new applications and modules of the EHR system for new and existing physician practices. Develops and maintains training curriculum for both individuals and groups. Schedules and instructs clinical and non-clinical staff in the appropriate use of software application(s) for their roles. Reeducates and supports end-users as needed or requested.

Troubleshoots and investigates errors, outages, data issues and performance problems. Assists with the training and education of software upgrades, new features, and functionality. Troubleshoots application issues and trouble tickets and reports to the appropriate software vendor.

Acts as CHMG representative to vendors to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner. Assists with the advancement of clinical applications, interfaces, data migration, and reporting of the EHR software. Assists with the creation of policies and procedures for EHR processes and workflows.

Creates and assesses yearly EHR competencies of all non-clinical personnel within physician practices. Maps existing workflow and collaborates with team to design enhanced electronic workflow. Monitors system input and provides compliance feedback to physicians and managers. Ensures that monthly and year-end billing activities for physician practices are completed timely. Produces and delivers monthly reports to physicians and other providers and key CHMG personnel. Delivers requested ad hoc reports in an accurate and timely fashion.

Manages database security and controls permissions and privileges. Adds new users and ensures all current and new information is accurate and up-to-date. Maintains performance and integrity of database systems. Develops and maintains support documentation. Collaborates with Information Systems on projects that require their involvement.
