The Sausage Line Associate will assist supervisor on the sausage line stuffing sausage into casings and getting ready for the smoker, to meet or exceed output and productivity goals while ensuring safe actions, environmental compliance, and quality production in a Good Manufacturing Practice food-grade operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist supervisor on the sausage line, getting sausage ready for the smoker
- Placing product on sticks
- Tie knots on the end of the casings
- Assist supervisor to ensure that all specifications and procedures for quality assurance and control are met
- Offers the supervisor all methods of improving the production or organization of work
- Work with the room manager to establish a strong team spirit in its department by promoting communication and respect in a non-hostile manner
- Performs other tasks at the request of the immediate superior

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- Prior food processing experience
- Hand and eye coordination
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good operational judgment (initiative)
- Strong commitment to teamwork and concern for others (promote a team-building environment)
- High level of personal responsibility and ownership
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work in a cold environment
- Wear clean smock, hair net, bump cap, hearing protection, sleeves, safety boots and gloves always.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Able to speak effectively, respectfully and professionally to employees of the organization
- Follow and promote safe work practices in a team environment
