Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, treatments, and procedures
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures, medications, and self-care techniques
- Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment
Skills:
- Specimen collection processing: Ability to collect and process various types of specimens for laboratory testing
- Coding: Knowledge of medical coding systems such as ICD-9 to accurately assign diagnostic codes for billing purposes
- Experience administering injections: Proficient in administering injections and providing appropriate documentation
- Working with people with developmental disabilities: Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Catheter care: Knowledge of proper catheter care techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort
- Experience with children: Ability to provide age-appropriate care for pediatric patients, including assessment, treatment, and emotional support
- Dementia care: Understanding of the unique needs of patients with dementia and ability to provide appropriate care and support
- Senior care: Knowledge of geriatric nursing principles and ability to provide comprehensive care for elderly patients
- Toddler care: Ability to provide age-appropriate care for toddlers, including assessment, treatment, and support for their developmental needs
