The preschool cooking teacher is responsible for introducing and conducting cooking activities aimed at enhancing the educational and developmental growth of preschool-aged children. This role focuses on hands-on culinary experiences that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Through our "Tiny Chefs" program, even the pickiest eaters are encouraged to explore food, learn about different flavors and ingredients, and turn mealtime into fun time. Hands-on involvement in food preparation encourages children to try new foods and fosters a lifelong enjoyment of cooking.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare age-appropriate cooking activities that do not involve stove or oven use.

Implement and supervise cooking sessions, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met at all times.

Introduce children to basic culinary skills, nutrition concepts, and kitchen safety in a fun and engaging manner.

Monitor and assist children during cooking activities, providing guidance and encouragement as needed.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate cooking lessons into broader educational themes.

Maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment that supports each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Attend staff meetings and preschool events as required.

Provide regular feedback to parents on children's participation and progress in cooking activities.

Address any behavioral or developmental concerns that arise during cooking sessions, in collaboration with preschool staff.

Perform other duties as assigned by the preschool director or administration.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.

Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or High School Diploma.

Completed 45 hours of training in Early Childhood Education/Child Development as required by the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Meet all state-specific requirements for employment in a preschool setting.

Previous experience working in an accredited early childhood facility preferred.

Ability to engage and interact appropriately with children, parents, colleagues, and management.
