Primary Function:
As a Staff Nurse at the Pavilion for Health Care, you perform your Nursing duties as outlined below under the direct supervision of Director of Nursing.
- You will provide professional care of residents and supervise subordinate nursing staff. Additionally, you will perform various tasks requiring adequate knowledge of rehab and geriatric nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited RN/LPN program
- Resident of the state of Florida
- 1 – 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical nursing or Geriatric nursing preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good knowledge of basic nursing skills.
- Experience and knowledge of geriatric nursing preferable
- Ability to supervise subordinate nursing staff.
- Ability to critically think and provide sound nursing judgement in emergency.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, co-workers, employees in other areas of community, and volunteers
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for the care and well-being of assigned residents
- Supervises Certified Nursing Assistants.
- Observe daily residents’ health care status and input necessary nursing documentations in Matrix.
- Administer medications and perform scheduled treatment to include dressing changes and weekly skin observation per Physician Order.
- Perform Admission and Discharge.
- Monitors diabetics and obtain accu checks as ordered and when condition indicates.
- Check stock medications for expiration and order for replacement.
- Monitors EDK box for outdated medications and notify pharmacy if needed.
- Ensure emergency cart are 100% replenished at all times.
- Notifies physician and Unit Manager of any vital signs, abnormal labs or x-rays
- Enter Physician order to Matrix.
- Makes appointments for residents as needed i.e., physician offices, dentists, ophthalmologists, etc. Enter appt information in log book and arrange transportation accordingly.
- Ensure required documents (to include face sheet, recent lab and x-ray, H and P) and any other pertinent information are ready on the day of appt to go with the resident.
- Ordering and arranging ancillary services such as lab and radiology studies.
- Coordinating physical therapy treatment as necessary.
- Take appropriate actions when emergencies arise within the guideline of Pavilion (including notification of Physician, DON, NHA, CNO as applicable)
- Facilitate resident’s transfer to hospital.
- Notify Physician and family members on resident’s condition, incidents, and change of status.
- Complete required documentation in the Matrix system including but not limited to: Daily Skilled Notes, Post 72-hour New admission assessment, Incident Reporting, Weekly skin check, and Antibiotic Charting.
- Ability to familiarize self with Fire Safety Procedures and Disaster Preparedness.
- Ensure all staff follows proper guidelines and procedures including Infection Control, Hand washing, Isolation Precaution, Resident’s rights, Abuse Neglect, and Exploitation, and HIPAA/Confidentiality.
- Complete necessary documents on Workers’ Injury.
- Able to navigate Matrix, Pavilion’s Electronic Charting System.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
