The IT Epic Manager will be responsible for:
Business Solutions-
Engages with internal clients and stakeholders to understand their current and future operational needs

Applies deep domain knowledge, a consultative approach with internal clients, and experience with EHRs

Identifies implications, brainstorms solutions with the team and assesses the best option among many
Planning-
Manages & prioritizes the daily workload and assignments of team members to meet business needs
-
Provides input into department goals. Ensures team has appropriate resources & highlights areas of need to manager for resolution

Regularly reports on the productivity, progress, & effectiveness of the team in comparison to established performance metrics
-
Participates in implementing changes to team's processes, procedures, etc. to enhance the team's effectiveness
Upgrades-
Manages the team's efforts in support of upgrades. Coordinates with Project Management to establish team’s deliverables for upgrade tasks & assigned release notes

Communicates major milestones to the team and customers & manages the team’s resource allocations
Communications-
Establishes and maintains an open communication channel with staff

Facilitates team meetings to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-users’ concerns and upcoming milestones

Serves in a lead role in presentations to senior leadership on key project updates, broad reaching Epic optimizations and issues, industry trends, etc

Serves as a liaison to internal Hospital, associated practice groups, etc. when needed
Team leadership-
Defines and communicates goals and expectations for staff, working with senior manager or director to support the broader process/operation

Provide technical guidance & work direction to staff. Interviews, selects, disciplines or recommends for discharge employees in accordance with Hospital HR policy & practices

Evaluates staff on achievement of goals & deliverables and assessment of competencies

Trains staff on the application of policy & procedures

Develops standards, on call schedules, vacation schedules, training plans & other related administrative duties to ensure a stable work environment

May assist in developing the department’s budget
Professional Development-
May attend and present at national forums (i.e., Epic XGM - Expert Group Meeting, Epic UGM Support - User Group Meeting)

Attends relevant conferences, trainings at Epic for additional certifications, or internal BCH offerings.
To qualify you must have:-
Bachelors’ Degree is required
-
5 years of experience in EHR application implementation and/or support, including responsibility for complex builds and integrations.

Previous experience as a Training Manager of a large EHR implementation
