Position Overview
The Electro Mechanical Technician is a key position that is responsible for ensuring all plant operations and equipment are running effectively and efficiently in order to meet the plant’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment inside and outside of plant
- Maintenance and repair of robotic, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems
- Repair and maintenance of conveyor systems, dust collectors, valves, etc.
- Develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance program according to OEM recommendations using the company’s maintenance software (Interal)
- Utilization of manufacturing execution system (MES)
- Promote Safety in the workplace in accordance to OSHA regulations
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Personal responsibility for following safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Diagnose electrical problems rated power (short circuit, continuity, etc.)
- Analyze and understand the error codes generated by PLCs to direct the next interventions
- Perform mechanical repair work (adjustments, parts replacement, equipment maintenance)
- Extensive knowledge of facilities/equipment set up and manufacturing equipment maintenance
- Proven Electro-mechanical troubleshooting knowledge and experience
- Able to read mechanical and electrical schematics/drawings
- Electrical controls knowledge and experience
- Pneumatic Controls/Systems Troubleshooting & Set-Up knowledge and experience
- PLC programming (PLC AB / Siemens / Schneider)
- Working experience with LOTO procedures, confined space entry, ARC flash, pedestrian safety
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Possess Continuous Improvement mindset. Strong desire to participate in Lean Manufacturing activities (Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
- Ability to work with and coordinate cross-functional teams (production, contactors)
- The person must be able to weld (bow or mig, it is very useful)
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Education & formal training
- Skills are typically acquired through completion of an Associate degree or 2-year vocational training in electronic technology or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Preferred Qualifications include an A.S. degree in Electronics Technology or IT/Networking.
- Minimum 5 years experience working as maintenance technician in manufacturing environment
- Able to operate a forklift or to be trained
- Welding is a plus
Physical Requirements/Other requirements
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders frequently
- Able to do work at height
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Available to travel for training.
- Valid US driver’s license required
