Lyrasis is a 501 c 3 non-profit membership organization whose mission is to support enduring access to the world's shared academic, scientific and cultural heritage through leadership in open technologies, content services, digital solutions and collaboration with archives, libraries, museums and knowledge communities worldwide. Lyrasis was created by its members to help them tackle wide-reaching challenges with a collective strength, including: the development and selection of new technology solutions; fostering community-wide projects that help deliver better outcomes and services; content creation, acquisition and management; support for new content models and strategies; and large-scale knowledge management programs unique to collections-holding institutions.
With an organizational history dating back to 1936, Lyrasis is home to more than 1,000 member academic and public libraries, museums, archives and other collections-holding organizations located in 28 countries. With a global staff of over 60 experts and professionals, Lyrasis is organized into three primary units of focus - community supported/open-source software, technology hosting services and content creation and acquisition. In addition to these business units, we also offer specific programs such as consulting, training, fiscal services and more.
Supporting these three units are dedicated teams including member outreach and member services (sales and customer service), marketing and communications, fiscal operations, grant writing and licensing. These are unique functional areas and benefits afforded the member.
Ultimately, Lyrasis helps its members amplify their impact and influence, participate in global programs, create and deliver better programs and services to their communities, while still maintaining their unique collections, cultures and identities.
Summary Job Description:
Reporting to the Brand Manager & Senior Graphic Designer, the Digital Marketing Specialist works collaboratively to create and coordinate digital marketing activities and promotions for Lyrasis and its sub-brands. Lyrasis is strategically focused on content and scholarly communication, licensing, open access, community-supported software and hosting services, and ebooks and community engagement. This position works to disseminate information to more than 3000 members and active users of Lyrasis services.
The successful incumbent will work with Marketing and Communications (MarComm) to support all departments within the Lyrasis organization and maintain the Lyrasis brand by working on digital marketing campaigns, including designing and creating digital content for Lyrasis' websites, social media channels, email marketing campaigns, flyers, web assets and more.
The Digital Marketing Specialist works with the Lyrasis MarComm team to determine needs and to build and deploy digital content and design to:

Build brand awareness and create engagement within the community via visual storytelling

Support Lyrasis divisions and programs and our strategic areas of focus: 1) Content and Scholarly Communications, 2) Hosting and Open-Source Software Support, and 3) Ebooks and Community Engagement

Promote partnerships/sponsorships, as well as presence at conferences
Duties/Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the MarComm team in designing and producing digital content to develop concepts for social media

Assist in the creation of designs that are visually appealing and effective in communicating information to our clients' target audience

Modify and revise existing designs to meet client needs or to improve design quality

Research and stay up to date on design trends and best practices to ensure that our designs are innovative and effective

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Work with the Marketing Operations and Campaign Manager to build a social media strategy to boost Lyrasis and its programs on social media channels (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, plus Instagram, TikTok, and any new channels)

Measure traffic and engagement through social media analytics and Google Analytics

Prepares ad hoc reports (Compliance, 403B etc.) as needed.

Oversees the procurement of appropriate hardware and software to ensure that the organization has high quality, efficient systems.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.)

Basic understanding of print and web design principles

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to take direction and work independently

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Fluency with social media and digital marketing

Basic video editing skills

Graphic design experience (portfolio or samples may be requested)

Background in non-profits and/or libraries strongly preferred

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or related field

Two + years professional marketing, communications or design experience
