Aya Healthcare is hiring a Patient Account Representative with experience in hospital-based collections for a 13-week contract assignment with a dynamic health system in Torrance, CA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite/in-person position
Shift: 07:30 am- 4:00 pm
COVID-19: Vaccinations and Booster shot are required.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be proficient in HOSPITAL- BASED collection with at least 2-3 years' experience.
- STRONG PPO collections and Managed Care collection experience.
- Must be able to follow claims and resolve them.
- Must also know PPO, HMO, Medi-Cal, and Medicare Insurance plan guidelines.
- Cerner experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Process billing statements and claims for insurance reimbursement
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG for accurate billing
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with medical record regulations
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and billing practices
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical office procedures
- Experience with medical billing systems and software
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards and procedures
- Familiarity with medical collections processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
