POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Clinical Training Directors for the online Counseling Program teach one to two course sections each quarter, maintain practicum and internship course (s), and have other core faculty responsibilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the quality of clinical training at off-site location adheres to the mission, policy, and procedures of Counseling@Northwestern and CACREP standards related to clinical training.
- Maintain a student load of clinical training students and ensure a high quality placement and clinical training experience for these students.
- Review site applications vetted by 2U and determine compatibility with the Counseling Program training model.
- Create and facilitate supervisor training for off-site supervisors and university supervisors and hold regular meetings to ensure the quality of the students’ training.
- Act as Assistant Lead for all Practicum and Internship online courses. This includes monitoring student activity logs, assigning grades within the Learning Management System, and troubleshooting all student issues related to fieldwork placement.
- Troubleshoot and investigate all clinical training concerns related to sites and students and document as appropriate, following due process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
