Follow direction of a Senior Lead Teacher. Work as a team to create a team approach to caring for our children. Patience, kindness, and experience with Special Needs children is a must. Maintain a warm, nurturing and safe environment for all children. Base interactions with children on Developmentally Appropriate practice to meet the needs of all learners. Be PROACTIVE, learn the routines and be responsive to the children BEORE teacher has to ask for help. Help keep classroom clean according to new COVID-19 procedures, and organize materials as needed. Help keep children’s personal items organized (cubbies, backpacks, diapers, change of clothing, etc.). Maintain professional relationships with staff and professional, but limited relationships with children’s families. Refer all questions from parents or care givers about a child or classroom curriculum to the daytime Head Teacher. Be responsible for supervision of a pre-determined set of children—especially on the playground and during transitions. Change diapers or help with toileting when necessary.
