Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Wholesale Fuel Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a similar role and advanced knowledge of all aspects of wholesale fuel operations. The Wholesale Fuel Manager will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and our customers. This role will be to report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the wholesale fuel distribution network, including scheduling, dispatching, and deliveries.
- Manage accounts receivable, invoices, credit card receipts, EFT’s, and reports.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics, minimize transportation costs, and improve delivery efficiency.
- Explore new business opportunities and maintain existing business relationships.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all aspects of fuel handling, storage, and transportation.
- Manage dispatch team and provide leadership and guidance.
- Develop and implement training initiatives to ensure the team is properly trained on new processes and changes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in fuel operations and logistics, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fuel distribution, logistics, or operations management, preferably in the wholesale fuel industry.
- Strong understanding of fuel distribution processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of leadership and decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Expert level written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems, including routing, dispatching, and inventory management tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to fuel handling, transportation, and storage.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel frequently.
- Must be willing to work in office Monday- Friday 8am-5pm, and beyond normal working hours as needed to complete special projects or urgent requests.
