Maintenance Technician

Classification: Full or part time, Hourly
Hours/Week: flexible
Description: Under the general supervision of the Our Lady of Lourdes and Holy Cross Principals, responsible for the cleaning of the school and parish buildings in such a way to promote health and safety and increase the longevity of the facilities. It is the role of the Maintenance Technician to follow daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual cleaning schedules based on assigned tasks. Complete repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
Essential Functions
Facility Repairs
- Report building issues needing repair to the principal and the Director of Finance and Operations
- Complete facility repairs as directed
- Monitor and replace environmental systems including filters, lights, access doors, locks, etc.
- Coordinate onsite third-party repair work
Facility Procedures
- Monitor facility safety, promptly report issues and secure building when facilities are not in use, checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights
- Follow instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
Facility Maintenance
- General cleaning of all areas including restrooms, kitchens, water fountains and exterior doors
- Refill paper towel, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap in all dispensers
- Gather and empty trash and clean trash receptacles
- Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments
- Clean building floors and carpet by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, or shampooing
- Clean school gym floor based on manufacturer specifications
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors hard surface floors
- Clean blood, bodily fluids or tissues based on OSHA requirements
- Assist with lawn care and snow removal as needed
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, line supervisors and management
- Ability to read and interpret any documentation related to the function of the position
- Ability to bend, stand, walk, stoop, for majority of the shift
- Ability to push, pull, shove and lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to climb a ladder

Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Must complete Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment Training and background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
