The chaplain is responsible for overseeing the Spiritual Care program of the health system to ensure needs of patients, visitors, family members, auxiliary and team members are met. This includes direct provision of spiritual support, integration into interdisciplinary plan of care, and collaboration with community clergy and other spiritual care providers in meeting patients' needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates competent spiritual care.
- Oversees clergy training.
- Demonstrates compliance with all hospital policies.
- Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame.
- Engages in departmental/hospital committees, PI projects, educational offerings to peers and mentoring/precepting of new team clergy.
- Attends staff meetings and completes all required competencies and mandatory education as assigned.
- Seeks training, education, certification and enhancement in area focus/specialty.
- Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, peers, patients and family members.
- Completes other duties as requested/assigned.
