Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HVAC systems, basic plumbing, and general maintenance repairs to ensure our properties are well-maintained and our residents' needs are promptly addressed.
Key Responsibilities
- HVAC Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Plumbing: Handle basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing faucets, and ensuring the proper functioning of water systems.
- General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various building systems, including electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner to ensure resident safety and comfort.
- Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of common areas, building exteriors, and individual units to identify and address maintenance issues.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, work completed, and parts or supplies used.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in apartment maintenance or a related field.
- HVAC Certification: Certification in HVAC maintenance and repair is required.
- Plumbing Skills: Proficiency in basic plumbing tasks and repairs.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Physical Ability: Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Certifications: Certifications in other maintenance-related fields (e.g., electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in both English and Spanish is an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Full-time position with on-call responsibilities for emergency maintenance.
- Environment: Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.07 - $22.75 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
