The Town of Bellingham is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time position(s) of Firefighter/Paramedic and to establish a list for future openings.
Duties of the Firefighter/Paramedic:
Response to emergency and non-emergency calls including medical emergencies, fires, hazardous material incidents, fire prevention and education duties, maintenance, cleaning, training and office functions as required. The Firefighter/Paramedic is expected to work a rotating twenty-four hour schedule.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must submit a High School Diploma and a valid driver's license when applying. Preference may be given to candidates who are certified Massachusetts Fulltime Recruit Firefighter I/II or equivalent. Candidates who are not currently certified Massachusetts Recruit Firefighter I/II will be required to successfully pass and graduate the Massachusetts Fulltime Firefighter Academy Recruit program to continue employment. Preference will be given to candidates who are valid Massachusetts Licensed Paramedics. Candidates who are not currently certified Massachusetts Paramedics will be required to successfully complete a certified Paramedic program and obtain a Massachusetts Paramedic License to continue employment. The successful candidate must refrain from tobacco use and remain a non-tobacco user. Appointment of the final candidate will be contingent upon the results of a thorough background investigation, medical exam and physical agility test.

Job Type: Full-time Firefighter Paramedic
Salary: Firefighters/Paramedic, if hired, will receive the following pay incentives.
- Candidates shall start at top step Firefighter/Paramedic salary $78977. Paramedics shall receive a $9000.00 stipend rolled into base salary to maintain a Paramedic license.
- Uniform allowance of $950.00 per year also rolled into base salary after the first year and the town pays for turnout gear for all members. All class "B" uniforms for the first year will be provided by the town.
- Members shall be paid 13 holidays per year.

- Members shall receive the following Fire Science Degree stipends yearly. Associates Degree - $3350.00 Bachelor's Degree - $4100.00
Firefighter Salary 1st year (Without Degree) - $78977.00
Required Education/Licenses:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- License Massachusetts Paramedic: (May consider graduating Paramedics or students actively enrolled in a Paramedic program)
- Fulltime Recruit FF I & II Certification (May consider Call Firefighter experience)
