Description/Job Summary:
- SIGN ON BONUS: $500 for full-time and $300 for part-time/on-call employees. 1st payment following successful New Hire Orientation. 2nd payment following successful completion of 90-day new hire probation.
- REFERRAL BONUS: $1000 for full-time and $500 for part-time employees/DSP referred. Provided upon successful completion of 90-day new hire probation.
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially-based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client’s program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in daily living activities in both the home and the community. Responsibilities/Duties:

Provide supervision of individuals by the person-centered ISP; support someone to work towards outcomes identified in ISP and other Person-Centered Support Plans.

Complete the required documentation.

Administer Medications.

Provide transportation to consumers.

Support consumers in activities of daily living, meal prep, toileting, and hygiene, as appropriate.

Assist in Community Integration Activities and access to community Supports including medical appointments, social security access, etc.

Complete all other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience:

Prior experience in the human services field, is preferred.
Required Education:

A High School diploma or GED is required, and an associate's or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording, and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

Program Summary:
RHD Intellectual Disabilities Division provides community-based residential services to adults diagnosed with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community. The City of Philadelphia has issued an Emergency Regulation Governing the Control and Prevention of COVID-19 Mandating Vaccines for Healthcare Workers and In Higher Education, Healthcare, and Related Settings (“Vaccine Mandate Regulation”), which mandates vaccine for healthcare workers and in higher education, healthcare, and related settings. This mandate became Effective on August 16, 2021 and requires Healthcare Workers and certain workers at Healthcare Institutions to be fully vaccinated by October 15, 2021. Fully vaccinated means it has been two weeks since the final dose of vaccine. The regulation does allow individuals to apply to RHD for an exemption based on a sincerely held religious belief that would prohibit vaccination for COVID-19 or because of medical conditions that preclude administration of one of the available vaccines.
