We are currently seeking a self-motivated Accounts Payable Accountant to manage the daily operations of the Accounts Payable Department. Pays:$50,000 per year
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- · Responsible for ensuring that all invoices are processed through FUNDEZ (Accounting Software) on a timely basis so the General Ledger can close within the proper timeframe.
- · Responsible for vendor relations and ensuring vendor compliance.
- · Responsible for vendor statement reconciliation and analysis on a monthly basis, in conjunction with A/P team.
- · Responsible for the monthly and annual A/P sub-ledger closing and reconciliation.
- · Responsible for reviewing all monthly and annual accruals so they are done in an accurate and timely manner.
- · Provide Assistant VP of Finance with weekly projected analysis of cash flow needs.
- · On at least a quarterly basis, review monthly recurring payables templates, including a test for accuracy of dollar amounts and general ledger coding.
- · Complete the annual 1099/1096 filing requirements for all companies.
- · Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls.
- · Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to all accounts payable matters, including creating and/or updating controls, processes, forms, etc.
- · Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- · Advise ANHI staff & supervisors of policies pertaining to accounts payable.
- · Communicate with vendors on an ongoing basis and resolve outstanding issues.
- · Communicate with appropriate management level ANHI employees.
- · Communicate with outside auditors and other regulatory officials, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- · Minimum five (5) years of accounts payable experience; Non-Profit experience preferred.
- · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred. Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent knowledge and experience in the accounting field required.
- · Knowledge of NYC DYCD and HRA guidelines a plus.
- · Proficiency in MS Excel and Fund EZ a plus.
- · Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
