Technical Writer
Ellumen, named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post, is a small business headquartered in Silver Spring, MD. We provide a broad spectrum of information technology and ancillary services to government and commercial customers. We seek remote Technical Writer to join us in support of proposal writing efforts.
Required
- 4+ years of proven technical writing success and analysis with federal contracts.
- Excellent Communication skills with the ability to collaborate and share insights with team members and stakeholders
- Abililty to work with Ellumen's exceptional team to create attractive and effective federal contract proposals.
- Work independently and as a member of a cross functional team
- Ability to converse with Subject Matter Experts, gain functional knowledge of upcoming opportunities, and use the information to present possible solutions.
- Wiling and Capable of quick learning in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Review product documents for accuracy, format, spelling, and other issues.
- Attend daily morning standup meetings.
- Create technical documentation that communicates complex information in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
- Provide minutes for key meetings/calls
- Must have excellent communication skills, problem solving skills, and organizational skills.
- Able to collaborate with technical and end user resources to create content.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and graphic design experience.
- Experience with Visio or other software to create org charts or diagrams.
- Ability to multi-task and work tasks without frequent oversight
The following experience and expertise are required:
- Four years’ experience in leading IT project technical writing is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Successful Federal proposal writing experience. (Writing samples may be required)
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
