We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our health care team. The position will require the individual to work daily alongside physicians and medical professionals, assisting with various administrative tasks, as well as performing multiple other duties such as preparing patients for examination rooms, answering phones, notifying office staff of patient arrivals, and scheduling appointments. The ideal candidate for this position will have a commitment to the health care field combined with a substantial amount of medical experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and room them, check-in/check-out
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Obtain labs specimen from patients: venipuncture/phlebotomy, nasal swabs, etc.
- Administer injections and immunizations
- File and maintain EMR (Athena) records according to industry standards.
- Schedule appointments for patients.
- Gather and organize patient information for use in medical reports.
- Organize and upload digital faxes into charts
- Prior authorizations (covermymeds), referrals and authorizations (availity)
- Offer advice and assistance to patients, sometimes without direction from healthcare professionals.
- Prepare equipment for procedures; assist physicians with minor tasks during procedures; maintain equipment cleanliness and sterility in the exam room; organize materials in the exam room.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
