Job description: Typical Mud Logging duties.
Rig up and down unit
Setup and install equipment
Attend daily Safety Meeting before Shift begins
Catching, washing, and bagging 40'/50' samples.
Identify and describe cuttings.
Look for oil shows and conduct cutting procedures on samples.
Monitor data from gas detection equipment.
Communicate with key personnel.
Picking formation tops. Input data into Mainlog software.
Daily maintenance of gas detector and agitator to ensure correct gas readings.
2 daily geologist reports (and on request).
Morning 3AM short report.
Inventory of unit supplies.
Ability to follow safety protocol of Main Logging Inc and those of other external parties.
Gas detection equipment: MGD Precision hotwire and chromatograph
Mud logging software: Mainlog www.mainlog.com
12 hours per shift. We have a 20 day on/ 10 day off schedule rotating 3 people per Logging Unit. You will have 20 days working the day shift, then 10 days off, and finally 20 days of night shift.
Accommodations: Rental double wide mobile homes. You will be working and living on site.
All of your work will be done in the Permian Basin: West Texas & New Mexico
