Responsibilities:
The Furnace Operator reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and Lead Furnace Operator. This position requires knowledge concerning all areas of the production department. They must follow all procedures as outlined in the Swarco Handbook and Operator Manual. The work schedule assumes a continuous operation including 12-hour shifts.
Expectations:
o The Furnace Operator’s main responsibility is to constantly survey the deck and glass primaries and avoid malfunctions.
o Makes adjustments to beading machines to attain scheduled bead sizes and/or gradations.
o Assists in wheel changes and all production mechanical work.
o Ensures all batch feeding and storage processes are working properly.
o Maintains a safe and clean work area.
o Respond quickly in the event of a power failure or power interruption to restore.

o Shares paperwork including check sheets, logs reports with the Shift Supervisor
o Watches process water constantly to see cooling is achieved at bushings and burners.
o Other assignments as deemed necessary by Shift Supervisor and management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
