ABOUT THE ROLE:
GOGO is seeking its first M-Power Regional Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health and Wellness Department, directly building out the infrastructure of the M-Power program in the prospective region. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing our programs to better support the holistic well-being of the youth we serve.
The M-Power Regional Manager reports to the Director of Mental Health and Wellness and performs high-level administrative and managerial functions to grow and implement our M-Power program across the prospective region. The M-Power Regional Manager works in tandem with the Programs Manager(s) and Program Director to ensure every site in the region is situated to promote greater participant well-being through a trauma-informed, healing-centered approach.
The ideal candidate is a passionate and experienced mental health professional, who is an intuitive problem solver who takes initiative, and who is able to work well independently and on a team.
POSITION PRIORITIES
This full time position is designed to support the following (weekly estimates):
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (40%) 16 HOURS/WEEK
- M-Power Intern and Wellness Mentor Management: Recruit, onboard, place, train and supervise all Social Work interns and Wellness Mentors, complete all requirements from high-ed institutions related to intern supervision, conduct site visits and observations during after school
- Crisis and Case Management: Triage all red flag responses and ensure action plans and next steps are completed, develop a resource map for students and mentors, connect them directly to community resources as needed
- Program Evaluation: Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the impact and effectiveness of mental health and wellness initiatives, identifying areas of improvement
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate trauma-informed care and wellness principles into existing curriculum and program offerings
- Cultivate and nurture partnerships with mental health professionals, organizations, and community resources to enhance the support network available to program participants, alumni and mentors
- Develop new partnerships with graduate programs and community agencies in the mental health and wellness field to build out regional internship program
- Coordinate with Director of Marketing for internal and external communications, marketing and campaigns
- Serve as a resource and advocate for mental health awareness and de-stigmatization within the organization and broader community, to advance and promote the work of GOGO’s M-Power program in the prospective region
- Design, execute and facilitate sessions, workshops, and programs focused on mental wellness and artistic expression for participants, alumni and mentors; including wellness summits, wellness circles and Camp GOGO
- Provide direct wellness coaching and therapeutic support for participants, alumni and mentors (as needed) focused on identifying obstacles, developing wellness goals, self-care and healthy coping skills
- Attend all mandatory meetings and participate in professional development
- Support the development of training materials, and M-Power curricular resources
- Submit program information and data for grant applications and reports, as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Licensed or certified in a relevant mental health discipline (e.g. LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
- 3-5+ years workings with diverse populations, especially youth of color
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and systemic barriers facing marginalized populations
- High degree of discernment, flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving needs, and challenges of the organization and communities we serve
- Understanding and knowledge of mental health and wellness resources and community-based organization serving youth in the perspective region
- Experience designing and facilitating mental health and wellness programs, preferably in a youth-focused or community-based setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with participants, staff and community partners
- Technologically savvy; comfortable learning new software and utilizing systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication (in-person and virtual)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience managing a team
- Bilingual a plus
WORK DEMANDS
- Willingness to work some weekends and evenings as needed based on program schedules, events, and partnership opportunities
- Able to travel independently to various programming sites
- Completion of the YMHFA Certification and other additional trainings (paid)
