Job Type: Part-Time/Contract
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firmware Engineer to undertake advanced ECU (Engine Control Unit) reverse engineering projects aimed at developing customized and improved performance parts for high-performance vehicles. The ideal candidate should be deeply knowledgeable about microcontrollers, microprocessors, and automotive ECU architectures from major manufacturers like Bosch, Continental, and Siemens.
Responsibilities:
Reverse engineer automotive ECU software to modify and enhance vehicle performance and functionality.
Analyze and interpret ECU firmware and machine language across various systems.
Implement firmware modifications to optimize vehicle systems and performance.
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot ECU-related issues and validate modifications.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of all development processes and modifications.
Requirements:
Strong background in firmware development and reverse engineering within the automotive industry or similar.
Proficient understanding of ECU structures, particularly those from Bosch, Continental, and Siemens.
Experience with microcontrollers and microprocessors essential for automotive applications.
Familiarity with automotive programming tools and protocols.
Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of CAN bus and other relevant automotive communication protocols.
Experience in automotive diagnostics, fault analysis, and system optimization.
Excellent analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Pay: $57.87 - $62.86 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 5 per week
