Position Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for developing and managing to estimate plans, contributing to and overseeing the detailed development of the estimates, coordinating with other departments and/or offices as required and conducting estimate reviews with senior management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop estimate/bid packages, ensuring all required documentation/information is included;
- Develop estimate plan and basis of estimate documents;
- Develop and adhere to estimates/proposal timelines and deliverable requirements;
- Prepare discipline quantity take-offs (earthworks, concrete, structural, equipment installation, piping fabrication, installation and pressure testing, electrical and instrumentation);
- Work with procurement and sub-contracts in development of RFQ packages to receive pricing for estimates;
- Coordinate and work with all discipline team members to incorporate execution plans and best practices into the estimate basis (Engineering, Construction, Human Resources, Supply Chain);
- Lead strategy to win, estimate kick-off, estimate update and estimate review meetings with project teams and management;
- Represent estimating department as a primary point of contact;
- Develop and adhere to pricing sheets, rate tables and other client specific requirements;
- Assist and support in development of proposal strategy, execution plans and pricing

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in an estimating role, preferably in an industrial construction environment;
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited post-secondary institution, engineering design, trade certificates, and/or field experience are definite assets;
- Experience working with a range of construction projects including large capital, small capital, maintenance and/or O&M
- Cleopatra and/or Aspen Capital Cost Estimating software knowledge and experience is preferred;
- Proficient with reading construction drawings and specifications, performing material take-offs and quantifying scopes of work to translate into cost estimates;
- Heavy industrial field project experience and execution a plus;
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful, with strong interpersonal skills;
- Proficient with Microsoft office software tools (MS Word and Excel);
- Strong time management skills, confidentiality, and professionalism
