The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) is responsible for providing psychosocial and clinical support services to patients in an outpatient setting. The LCSW/LICSW assesses patients from a culturally and ethnically diverse population and provides outpatient clinical intervention while establishing plans for effective management of identified needs. The LCSW/LICSW acts as an advocate for patients and provides supportive, short-term & long-term therapy and crisis intervention to individuals. The LCSW/LICSW also develops and facilitates ongoing psycho-educational support groups and programs.
Job Summary
· The Social Worker utilizes critical thinking skills, and the principles of case management to coordinate and facilitate individual, group and family therapy sessions with the patients.
· Utilize consultation data and social work experience to plan coordinate patient care and following through to ensure service efficacy.
· Organize support groups or counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with and supporting the patient.
· Effectively supervise the CSWs in the caseload assigned to guarantee adequate collaboration and productivity.
· Provide diagnosis as need based on the patients’ collected data.
· Be an active servant leader by effectively guiding the CSWs as a leader and provide assistance wherever needed as an adequate servant.
Qualifications
· Current Licensure in Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) in the District of Columbia.
· Master's degree in Social Work
· Three years’ experience in acute care or other related healthcare field is preferred for LISCW/LCSW.
· Case Management Certification will be a plus.
· At least one year experience working with persons diagnosed &/or dual diagnosed with psychiatric illness & receiving active treatment.
· At least one year experience working as part of a multidisciplinary mental health team conducting individual, group, and family therapy.
· Knowledge of ICAMS and/or Credible will be a plus.
