Description
We are currently looking for a Full Time Respite House Parent to join our Area of Children's Village team located at the Chickasaw Children's Village.
Summary:
Works in conjunction with other house parents to provide a structured and caring environment for student’s grades 1-12, with emphasis on Academic, Social, Cultural, Spiritual, and Physical well-being. Provide live-in/on-site 24 hour presence/supervision to student cottages.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain preparedness and cleanliness of the cottage and living areas
- Report needs of cottage to direct supervisor
- Maintain daily tasks and chore list for students and ensure completion
- Keep cottage stocked with necessary food and non-food items
- Ensure day-today safety of students and their environments
- Assist students with school and homework needs
- Enforce structure of student schedules in regards to sleep habits, school, passes and activities
- Provide a structured and disciplined environment devoid of negative intervention methods
- Ensures solid and appropriate measures consistent with Children’s Village and Chickasaw Nation mission
- Provide stable and caring guidance to meet the individual needs of student's emotional and social development
- Assist students in learning and developing through daily living skills training
- May assist grounds and maintenance staff with minor care and maintenance needs
- Reports all needs, incidents, and emergencies to appropriate personnel
- Ensure all student health and hygiene needs are met and attended to
- Develops and trains for preventative and interceptive and methods including, actions and consequences
- Ensures the confidentiality and privacy of all students in cottage
- Shares in workload and cottage/students responsibilities with other house parent
- Models a positive, caring, considerate, and cooperative parent relationship with other house parent to instill positive problem solving and interaction between house parents
- Prepares reports as needed or requested
- Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types
- Greets and engages with a smile

- Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made

- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
- May provide break coverage for others as assigned
- May augment staff in other areas as needed based on staffing and needs ratio in regularly assigned unit
- Maintain knowledge of and follow all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
