The Brunswick School is a growing Early Childhood Education company located in Downtown Jersey City. Our successful program is expanding, and we are looking for teachers passionate about working with young children to join our amazing team. Our Lead Teachers provide warm, caring environments where children learn and grow while mentoring and supporting Assistant teachers.

- Implement The Brunswick School curriculum in partnership with Director of Curriculum
- Must create and submit lesson plans utilizing Progressive Approach to Curriculum and Teaching (PACT) learning model to the Director of Curriculum
- Establish and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of students in accordance with the Progressive Approach to Curriculum and Teaching (PACT) learning model
- Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities, in addition to subject learning Math and Science concepts
- Assess students actively and provide written documentation of assessments to parents/director bi-annually
- Meet the individual needs of each child, while demonstrating a sound understanding of learning stages
- Communicate with parents in a professional, customer-centric, manner via Tadpoles
- Manage, train and supervise Assistant Teacher in the classroom from a health and safety protocols, classroom routines and more
- Must attend monthly parent meetings
- Must attend all Professional Development Day and accumulate twelve hours of training per year
- Follow allergy protocols when administering all foods
- Follow procedures of positive reinforcement and redirection of student behavior
- Must communicate to parents daily on Tadpole
- Effectively open and close classrooms, in addition to cleaning and organizing
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related Field
- Teacher's certification in NJ in Early/Elementary Education required. Bachelors Degree in Education or Related Field will be accepted in conjunction with at least 3 years of experience in education as a lead teacher.
- Associates Degree in Education in combination with at least five years teaching experience in an early childhood center as a lead teacher will also be considered
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Able to lift 40 lbs, walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety
- Submit a writing sample upon request
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
License/Certification:
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
