Job Summary:
The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is announcing a contract position for the grant Trauma-Informed Services in Schools (TISS) Multi-Tiered Supports Systems (MTSS) Liaison for School Districts. This position will provide a link between NDE and three school districts to enhance and expand whole child policy, protocols, and trainings.
The position will be located in the NDE Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment. This will be a contractual position hired through Manpower.
General duties include but are not limited to coordination of efforts, collaboration between partners, meeting facilitation, and policy advocacy.
Deliverables:
o Liaison with UNR PBIS-TA Center and school nurses to expand and enhance multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) within identified districts.
o Focus on Tier 1 Universal Prevention and Promotion Strategies for the Whole Child Education system.
o Provide guidance and coaching on expanding Tier 1 health (nursing specific) supports within TISS grant requirements.
o Identify and implement strategies for including students and families/caregivers in district level policy and protocol development.
o Deliver research-based strategies, policies, and practice models relevant to the school environment. Technical assistance focused on building evidence-based, multi-tiered systems of school-based behavioral health, using collaborative decision-making processes guided by local data as well as research evidence.
o Attends the monthly meeting of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports District and Community Leadership Team, which brings school, community, and health partners together to collaborate on initiatives promoting positive youth development.
o Works collaboratively with family peer partner advocates to bring youth and families into arenas where policy and practice is discussed and decided.
o Evaluate and recommend behavioral health staffing levels needed by districts and schools, as appropriate. Facilitates partnerships with local and state behavioral health agencies.
o Support grant-funded Local Education Agencies (LEAs) with general grant implementation needs.

Special Requirements:
· This position requires a pre-employment criminal history check
· This position requires a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of Nevada
- Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing (experience in pediatrics or school nursing is preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and medical documentation
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle medical emergencies with confidence
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize student needs
- Ability to pass a background check according to school policies
