Position Title: Accounting Clerk
Reports to: (Indirect) Account Manager – (Direct) Plant Controller
Position Summary: The Accounting Clerk is responsible for responding to customer calls and emails, working through customer complaints, making sure all questions are answered and reconciled, shipping and invoicing for specific accounts, creating credit memos with proper backup documentation, and entering specific accounts payable. This position will work in our Warren, PA office while supporting the Account functions for our facility in Detroit Lakes, MN
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Answer phone calls and direct calls as needed.
· Respond to customer calls, emails, and complaints, make sure their questions are answered and that they receive any coupons, refunds, etc. that they might need to remain a good customer.
· Put in purchase invoices for accounts payable. This includes making sure all items are accounted for, pricing is correct, the proper tax is applied and corresponding with vendors as needed.
· Create credit memos. This includes making sure that the proper backup documentation is received for each deduction, obtaining all backup documentation, and making sure nothing is duplicated.
· Shipping and invoicing for customers. This also includes inventory reconciliation.
· Create sales invoices as needed.
· Disputing credits taken when needed.
· Maintain customer call in file and forward at end of month for monthly meetings.
Required Work Experience and Education:
· Associate degree desired
· High school diploma required.
· Previous accounting experience required – minimum of 1 year.
· Team player
· Good computer skills to include Microsoft Excel
· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
· Accurately perform basic mathematic skills
· Accurately and legibly record required information and data.
· Accurately follow written and/or verbal instructions
· Accounting knowledge preferred but not mandatory.
Work Environment Physical Requirements:
This position operates in an office environment within a manufacturing/warehouse/shipping facility with a controlled climate in the office area. Temperatures vary in the plant area. This role routinely uses but is not limited to standard office equipment such as computers, phones and multifunctional machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting (up to 25 lbs.), bending, twisting, and long-term standing may be required at times.
Hours are 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
Travel:
No overnight or long – distance travel is expected for this position.
