Structural Project Engineer
Experience in structural design focusing on low to mid-rise buildings. Specialized experience in the analysis and design of members under dynamic loading is preferred. Projects range from the design of Pre-Engineered Metal Building foundations to the design of 5-story buildings composed of a variety of materials. Duties include all aspects of design for a variety of structures from initial stages of design planning to construction administration with supervision of a project manager. The engineer is proficient in the analysis and design methodologies required to develop adequate designs. Producing construction plans requires proficient knowledge of Revit with a minimum experience of 1 year.
Detailed Knowledge/Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience
- Master’s degree with emphasis in structural engineering
- Proficiency in structural software packages, Excel, Word, and Revit
- EIT certification
- Familiarity with building codes, including material design codes and standards
- Proficient technical writing and communication skills
- Issuing construction drawings and documents
- Issuing design calculation packages
- Issuing structural inspection narratives
- Researching design guides, codes, or references, to directly apply or modify the methods used in the design of structures
- Development of design guides and spreadsheets to facilitate design
- Drafting of construction plans using Revit
- Attending site visits with other disciplines and/or clients
- Providing design solutions for unusual structural issues
- Providing construction administration by managing RFI’s and submittals
