Rebecca School, a DIRFloortime school, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Teaching Assistant Supervisor starting in August 2024. Rebecca School serves students 3 to 21 years old with neurodevelopmental delays in relating and communicating, offering a safe and nurturing environment for students and families. In this role, you will supervise Teaching Assistants as they aid students in the school and out in the community, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support each student's individualized developmental program. The DIRFloortime model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) was developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D.
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on education and experience (based on a 12-month position)
RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Meet individually with head Teaching Assistants once a month
- Meet as a group with all teaching assistants once a month (either by floor or groups)
- Is the “Go To” person for all the teaching assistants
- Attend and participate in classroom meetings, team meetings, child review meetings, staff trainings, Greenspan meetings
- Attend Supervisors meeting weekly
- Support Floortime Educator in new staff trainings
- Attend weekly supervision with the Assistant Director
- Maintain professional relationships with all staff
- Provide coverage throughout the building as needed
- Maintain and Update Teaching Assistant Manual yearly
- Maintain professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs
- Assist when needed regarding bussing, trip leadership, etc.
- Maintain safety of students at all times
QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree
- Teaching Assistant certification or another area of certification and completed DIR 201 and 202
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and the public
