Position Description
We are looking for an Estimator to join our Take-Off (Estimating) team. As a key member of the Take-Off (Estimating) team, the Estimator will report to the Take-Off (Estimating) Supervisor. This role requires the ability to determine window treatment scope and stretched fabric scope of walls and ceilings based on drawings and specifications, submit RFI’s to the GC, review bulletins, and take off a complete scaled scope of work. The Estimator is accountable for completing take-offs on time, correctly, and efficiently.
Bid Package:

Clearly defined scope with supporting plan details (assumptions defined & explained)

Review related plans for coordinated trades

Conflicting information is documented
-
Indicators: no go-backs from the sales team and minimal clarifying questions/conversations necessary
-
PM does not find any significant mistakes after the job starts
Timeliness:
-
Take-off due date to the sales team at least 48 hours before the due date (based on job value, phasing, etc.)
-
If the take-off due date is missed, communicate with the customer immediately, renegotiate the due date, and get written confirmation of late submission
Sales/Buyout Support:
-
Attend scope review meetings with sales and prepared to answer customer questions

Participate in internal project kickoff meetings when necessary

Contract review – verify sales has reviewed and accounted for all job documents included in the contract
Product Knowledge:
-
Stay up to date on products used on past projects and new products & ability to do take-offs on all Contexture’s products efficiently
Position Key Technical Competencies
-
Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

Ability to understand and interpret plans/blueprints/architectural drawings
-
Experience creating and editing PDFs with Bluebeam or similar program
-
Experience doing take-offs in Bluebeam or similar program
-
Comfortable on the phone
Requirements
-
2+ years’ experience in Divison 9 & Division 12 estimating preferred
-
2+ years’ experience interpreting commercial blueprints/construction documents
-
A Construction Management/Architectural Science degree is a plus
-
Stable job history; 2 years + tenure over the past 5 years (if applicable)
