Be a part of our new and exciting concept!! The Gaslamp Lumpia Factory is offering Filipino inspired dishes and of course lumpia. We are now hiring line cooks and prep cooks for our kitchen. We are a fast-casual concept working mostly with deep fryers and serving stews and soups. Our concept focuses on serving consistent dishes in a fast and efficient way. The kitchen is setup to make it very easy from prep to service following recipes and procedures that are already in place. Late night hours until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights are required for this position. Reliability and accountability will be the most important part of your job. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables and preparing sauces.
- Ensure food safety by following proper handling and storage procedures.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest improvements based on customer feedback.
Education and Work Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; FOH positions may currently be enrolled in high school or GED course.
- Prior restaurant experience of at least 2 years.
- Possess or obtain CA Food Handler Card (and RABS certification for Bartender).
Physical Requirements & Other:
- Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with or without correction.
- Must be able to see 20/20 vision with or without correction.
- Must speak English, read English, bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Ability to walk or stand in one spot for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing from 5-25 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, crouch, stoop, climb, grasp, pull, and push objects.
- Possess a moderate to high level of mobility, dexterity and endurance.
- Ability to work with touch screen computer ordering systems, credit card processing equipment, and phone system.
- Ability to work in a busy and sometimes loud work environment.
- Ability to occasionally work in a refrigerated environment.
- Ability to work in an environment with heat, odor, fumes, & steam.
- Minimum age 18 to work in the Kitchen
- Minimum age 21 for Bartender position
