Prominent Immigration Firm is looking for an Employment Based Paralegal experienced in nonimmigrant statuses, J issues/waivers, labor certifications, employer petitions, adjustment of status applications, and/or non-LC-based petitions (NIW, EB1A/B). This position requires a positive, reliable team player that is able to multi-task and thrive in a supportive, but fast-paced environment. The person in this role will be part of a hard-working and supportive team, providing assistance to senior immigration paralegals and attorneys. As a key member to the organization, staff will count on you to provide a consistent, quality work product which requires punctual attendance, and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and maintain files and documents in paper or electronic filing system;
- Communicate with clients regarding details of case that do not require legal advice;
- Monitor deadlines and priority dates on all cases;
- Prepare and revise legal documents for filing in immigration court, including briefs and appeals along with corresponding exhibits;
- Work with supervising attorney to carry out case to conclusion as outlined in file memo;
- Maintain up to date records in INS Zoom for all cases including case steps, deadlines, priority dates and receipt notices;
- Enter all time in Timeslips for each month by deadline established by Accounting Manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent, Associate/Bachelor’s Degree, or Certification preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Able to perform manual and electronic searches using external systems;
- Able to work well independently, as well as effectively within a team;
- Able to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
