We’re hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor!
Our Interior Systems Division is looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor for its manufacturing facility in Spring Hill to participate in the Total and Preventive Maintenance (TPM) for all equipment and facilities in a safe and inclusive environment.
You’ll work on challenges that matter!
This job will require you to:
- Coordinate both repair and preventive maintenance requirements for all manufacturing equipment.
- Issue disciplinary actions to maintenance technicians based on company rules and policies; including, but not limited to suspend employees.
- Stop the line to protect operators and customers from potential harm or quality issues
- Set schedules based on customer demands; including but not limited to run overtime.
- Implement rewards and recognition based on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the procurement of new equipment to assure manufacturing, maintainability, and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met
- Contribute, in liaison with the Manufacturing Engineering Department, to define technical specifications for alterations on existing equipment and facilities
- Identify and develop standards for equipment repair, set up and operation
- Participate in Production System Efficiency and Quality System Efficiency workshops to support continuous improvement: propose and implement continuous productivity, efficiency and quality improvement actions for all facilities
- Facilitate equipment moves
- Define and monitor quality, cost and delivery objectives given to external companies when intervening: subcontracting, ordinary and major maintenance actions, energy, security systems
- Monitor the purchase and inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime
- Recommend safety policies and assure safety controls are tested and reliable
- Keep up to date documentation related to maintenance
- Be responsible for the computer aided maintenance management system
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians
- To receive order of preventive work and ensure its realization.
- Direct activities in corrective maintenance.
- Organize preventive, corrective and improvement maintenance activities.
- Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
- Monitor performance during the shift and report accurate data at the end of the shift
- React in case of a problem: take care of immediate containment, call support functions, build corrective action plans
- Drive actions for improvement:
- Know team problems, seek feedbacks
- Define area for performance improvements
- Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities,
- Drive improvement ideas generation and implementation
- Define threshold and escalation of reaction modes to problems within his/her supervisory zone
People Management
- Leading by example in terms of rigor and discipline:
- Assure daily management
- Permanent presence on the Shop floor: daily contact with all team members, close management of the lines
- Manage headcount: plan the day before people allocation for the next day, plan also on a weekly basis
- Manage timekeeping in eTIME daily
- Support and help to fix problems
- Ensure discipline and rigor (work wear, break times, working hours…)
- Ensure the respect of HSE instructions, policies and procedures
- Development of the team
- Build training plan to increase team autonomy; ensure training and coaching of team members
- Manage annual performance interviews for all team members
- Plan development of the people (validation and support from ME manager and Human Resources Manager when appropriate): training, job evolution
- Ensure recognition upon individual performance: take part of the decision process
- Ensure proper flow of information to and from the team: top 5, regular information meetings, rapid cascade of critical information and of messages from management
Health, Safety and Environment and working conditions
- Ensure full respect of HSE rules and regulations
- Drive improvement of working conditions and ergonomics
- Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 Environmental Policy.
- Conform to requirements established in Spring Hill Plant ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures and work instructions.
- Support environmental programs to achieve objectives and targets.

The ideal candidate…
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
Knowledge / Skills:
- Operational knowledge of production methods (Kanban, 5S, Hoshin, TPM…)
- Strong sense of teamwork
- Strong communication skills
- Proven track record in upholding safety and quality standards
Education / Experience:
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of production experience
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Proficient level of English
