Meridian Outdoor Service is seeking a person to assist with construction, sign installation and other on and off premise sign projects. The person will work individually and at times with a crew to complete and sometimes manage projects throughout central Indiana. One of the main functions of this position will be working many feet off the ground, in some cases 50 feet or higher. Qualified candidates must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Install and remove advertising copy on and off premise structures.
Attend regular safety meetings and follow all company safety rules and regulations.
Ensure all sites are properly maintained in accordance with company standards.
Accurately complete all work orders and turn into manager at the end of each shift.
Maintain tools, equipment and other company materials.
Complete other duties as requested,
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT:
Climbing and working at elevated heights, reading, multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Small hand tools, small power tools, safety goggles, hard hat, safety harness with lanyard, hook ladder, extension ladder, rope, slings, ratchet straps, flex bars, lawn mower, and brush cutting tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to climb and work at elevated heights.
Read and follow detailed instructions.
Required to pass company’s fall protection training before climbing on advertising structures.
A valid driver license.
HS Diploma/GED preferred. Ability to work alone and manage your work schedule effectively.
Basic computer skills include Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel.
Ability to work from ladders and to carry a ladder and/or other tools to the worksite
from vehicle.
Working knowledge of electrical skills and techniques.
Working knowledge of fabrication skills and techniques.
Skill in reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams.
Ability to safely use construction equipment.
Ability to document installations, through photographs and written logs.
Skill in the practical applications of mathematics, in relation to construction and operations tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The primary work environment for this position is outdoors, requiring the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climb to heights up to 200 ft.
The physical demands for this position include heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, driving, and climbing.
Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%.
