As a Patient Scheduling Associate, you are responsible for putting our patients first while creating an exceptional experience for all. Together with a great team in an Oculoplastics practice, you will contribute to the growth and success of the office and use your experience to exceed expectations.
Our new Mount Pleasant, SC practice is looking for a people focused team member. We want to ensure our patients have the best service possible, and are seeking an individual who can help with this vision. This part-time position is primarily phone call focused, will start with 4 weeks of in office training , and then can transition to a remote (work from home) position.

- You have a warm and friendly phone demeanor with patients and can provide comfort and reassurance
- You have at least 1 year experience working with clients/members/customers
- You have effective listening skills, demonstrate empathy, and have prior experience working on the telephone
- You demonstrate attention to detail, can multi-task, and can learn new platforms or systems quickly
- You have experience using MS Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel
- You are self motivated, love completing tasks, and are not afraid to ask for help from team members
- You are dependable and reliable, and you know the importance of being on time in a medical practice
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be the first voice patients hear, handling inquiries, answering questions, and scheduling appointments and consultations
- You will obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies
- You will determine patient out of pocket responsibility for office visits and surgeries
- You will accurately input the appointment into our system
- You will respond to guest calls promptly or call them back within the business day
- You will follow up on referrals and make outbound calls to patients
- You will follow up with referring doctors to keep them informed of the patient
- You will project a professionalism, and wow the patients as you exceed their expectations
- You will ensure an efficient and professional working environment with open and constant communication.
