How are we supporting this mission?
One on One mentoring is provided for all new hires for the first 6-8 weeks of employment. This mentoring is a combination of shadowing, off the floor training sessions, online training and exposure to the many aspects of this position. After this initial 6-8 week mentorship, we offer continued training in our staff meetings as well as semi-annual goal setting with your team lead where we focus on your personal goals and passions.

BRAC is a fast-paced, 8 doctor, AAHA Accredited, small animal general practice. We pride ourselves on providing individualized care to all of our patients and a high level of customer service to our clients. Our goal is to assist our clients in all aspects of their pet’s care including client education, wellness, chronic disease management, geriatric care and emergency/urgent care.

Our nurses are utilized in surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, radiology, in-patient and outpatient care and pharmacy management. To facilitate successful patient care, our nurses are supported by their own team of ward assistants who help with husbandry, restraint and more!
We believe that Registered Veterinary Nurses/Technicians have training and education that makes them invaluable to our team. This is why we have a separation of tasks between our Registered Nurses/Technicians and our Veterinary Assistants. There is not an overlap of duties between these departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Knowledge of veterinary practices, procedures and terminology.
· Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain dogs and cats using low stress restraint and handling techniques. Ability to train other team members on appropriate restraint and handling.
· Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e. venipuncture, radiology, IV catheter placement, drug calculations, administer medications & fluids, and assess & triage patients) under the supervision of a Veterinarian.
· Organizational and computer skills.
· Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT) required.
· Newly certified or experienced RVT may apply
Workweek: Variable; consists of 3-4 shifts per week, including some weekends. Shifts are 10-12 hours in length.
