Position Summary: Responsible for designing, evaluating, and improving new or existing tooling and CNC programming. Integral member of the team responsible for taking a request for quote through to a finished product. Design tooling and work with builder during development of tooling. Individual is responsible for producing and maintaining Climatech production drawings.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Integral understanding of the request for quote cost estimating process
2.) Responsible for coordinating with internal and external builder and engineers when quoting production tooling, and ensuring that the tooling meets production specifications
3.) Support and interface with the company’s estimator during the quote process
4.) Collaborate with tool builders, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to develop cost effective and reliable production tooling for new customer projects/products
5.) Complete tooling improvements assigned by management which promote increase production rates, efficiencies, and material yields
6.) Research and implement new manufacturing technology as required
7.) Produce and maintain all Climatech production drawings
8.) Develop CNC tooling programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology. Minimum of 3-5 years of drafting and engineering experience is required. Need to be proficient in MS Office products, working knowledge of AutoCad, and capable of interpreting and creating blue prints. The ability to professionally communicate with internal and external customers on a daily basis via phone and email. Occasional travel will be required.
