Role and Responsibilities
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Warehouse Operations ensuring efficient, cost-effective usage of resources. This role will be responsible for improving the efficiency of warehouse shift daily operations, while maintaining quality and motivating and solidifying a high-performance warehouse team. We are seeking a progressive leader with experience in manufacturing warehouse activities. - Provides supervisory direction for warehouse personnel. Manage all aspects of performance, staffing levels, training and discipline within the department.
- Provides adequate resources to ensure the warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and material handling functions can be carried out with optimal efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inventory to meet customer demands by ensuring all warehouse related entries are entered into the system.
- Progressively pursue on time shipments with a goal of 100%. Establish and maintain key customer service level measurements, including loading time by customer, activity profiles by department and carrier performance issues.
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with applicable government regulations. Implement and train personnel on proper safety, cGMPs, and shipping procedures/protocols.
- Manage month-end inventory closeouts. Ensure month-end balances are accurate.
- Manage scrap and obsolete material destruction.
- Complete investigations of customer or carrier complaints originated in the warehouse.
- Promote continuous improvement efforts in order to reduce the delay of orders and/or picking errors.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained and in good operational condition.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse at all times.
- Manage spending to budgeted levels.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a warehouse leadership position managing a staff
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehousing, transportation, primary trucking, distribution/order filling, and computer systems for storage, shipping, and billing
- Experience managing costs within budget
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Lean, 5S, JIT highly desired
- Training in computer systems with emphasis on inventories, shipping and billing. AS400 and ERP system knowledge and experience is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with chemicals, knowledge/certification of hazardous shipping, shipping and receiving methods, carrier selection, rate negotiation, etc
- Acts decisively and functions effectively under stressful situations
- Manages deadlines and competing priorities effectively
- Must be willing and able to work hours necessary to achieve desired results.
