Position Title: Customer Service Advisor

General Summary
Communicates with customers throughout the entire repair or service procedure. Assists in the communication and cooperation between the sales counter and the technicians.
Essential Job Functions
- Answers the phone, making appointments and preparing estimates for potential customers.
- Greets and checks customers in at the front counter.
- Prepares customers’ work orders and assigns them to technicians.
- Prepares estimates based on technicians’ recommendations.
- Sells estimates to customers and answers any questions concerning repairs/maintenance.
- Keeps the customers up-to-date on repair process.
- Checks out customers during vehicle pickup.
- Keeps the repair order rotation board up-to-date.
- Orders parts with the best availability and value.
- Makes sure that all parts returns and cores are sent back in timely manner and processed.
- Keeps track of the overall progress and organization of repair orders in shop at all times.
- Keeps sales counter on task throughout the day.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and company services, pricing, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge about company marketing programs, coupons, specials and financing options.
- Experience with computers, Microsoft office and preferably RO Writer (management software).
- Skill in handling multiple tasks at once, prioritizing tasks and utilizing one’s time efficiently.
- Excellent phone skills are needed.
- Skill at remaining on task and calm in stressful situations.
- Skill and experience in conflict resolution.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to arrive on time to work every day.
Education and Experience
High school degree or GED equivalent and at least two years of experience in the customer service industry. College degree and automotive repair industry experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Reading and hearing is required at all times for this position.
- Standing/walking is required some of the time.
- No heavy lifting is required.
